No screws, no glue: it’s the Steel Stool (or side table, if you fancy)

Gautier, in the VW+BS office does a few things on the side as it were, and one of the results is this very cool Steel Stool which has taken him and his Noon Studio business partner a couple of years to develop. It’s all made in the UK from from European ash and 2mm high grade steel with a high abrasion resistance epoxy powder coated paint. It is the precision of the manufacturing that holds the elements in place, rather than any screws or any glue – eat your heart out Aalto. It works as a nifty side table or a magazine rack and of course you can sit on it. Stack ’em up and you’ve got a room divider and quirky bookcase. At the moment (as is often the way with small scale designer – maker outfits) it is produced in small batches and there is even a limited edition raw steel version. Nice work Gautier and buy it here.
